The sun’s out and children are on their long summer break.  With a bit of careful planning, mums dads and grandparents can be fully prepared for summer fun and the inevitable knocks, scrapes and stings that adventurous play brings. And it’s not uncommon for children to have accidents while playing at home.  In fact, this happens to more than two million children under the age of 15 each year1.  And children under the age of five are the most likely to hurt themselves. 

Most minor injuries can be treated at home with a first aid kit, so check that you have everything you need.  Ask your local pharmacy for advice if you’re unsure.  Pharmacists can give you advice about the types of low-cost, over the counter treatments that are right for your child.
